Little Known Facts about Sycamore Mineral Springs as a Wedding Venue
Many may know Sycamore Mineral Springs for its idyllic hillside hot tubs, its renowned treatment center, and magically beautiful grounds, but here are some fun facts that truly set Sycamore Mineral Springs apart from many other wedding venues.
Sycamore Mineral Springs has a rich history that dates back to 1886 when two weathered prospectors started drilling for “liquid gold.”
To their surprise they didn’t find oil, but white hot sulfur mineral water. Because of the water’s curative effects, the proprietors established a popular spa and mineral springs resort on the present location. In the early part of the 20th century, the Pacific Coast Railway – which stopped right across the street— brought travelers from Los Angeles and San Francisco on this stunning and popular coastal route.
Sycamore Mineral Springs has its own Chef’s Community Garden.
Our Chef, Edward Ruiz not only prepares beautiful and fresh cuisine, but is also very active in every aspect of the garden from sprouting seedlings, to planting and harvesting. This spontaneous garden cuisine is offered plated or buffet style. You simply can not get more customized, personalized or fresh from the garden than that!
Sycamore Mineral Springs is a destination within itself.
Many guests who visit, never leave during their stay, or if they do, they don’t stray far. 100 acres of wooded hillsides, creeks and picturesque grounds offer hiking trails, a yoga dome, the best treatment center on the Central Coast, a gift shop, outstanding restaurant and access to Bob Jones Trail to Avila Beach. You can even rent bikes from the property. Only a few short minutes away, you are in Avila Beach where shops, wineries and the sunniest beach on the Central Coast await. Creating the wedding of your dreams at Sycamore, really allows you and your guests to experience getting away from it all!
