According to some sources, the word "spa" originated in a municipality in the Belgium province of Liege, where the town's famed hot springs were frequented as early as the 14th Century. The town's name, Spa, is a Latin acronym derived from the phrase "Salus Per Aqua" or "health through waters".  There are precious few true spas in the United States and Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort is among the finest.

Soaking in hot mineral spring baths is an ancient healing practice tracing its roots from the ancient Egyptians and Romans to our contemporary worldwide culture. While taking the waters  has been a time honored tradition in Europe prescribed by physicians and paid for by health insurance companies, it is only now, in the 21st century, being defined by Americans seeking more from their spa experience than superficial pampering. Each mineral spring location throughout the world is unique in its mineral composition and its healing properties. The waters at Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort are rich in sulfur compounds and trace minerals which assist healing in a variety of ways. Hydrogen sulfide gas (responsible for the strong aroma) is a powerful antibacterial agent, which stimulates the body's mucus membranes. Inhalation of the sulfur is soothing to the respiratory system and calming to the skin. Many with joint-related pain disorders find comfort in the sulfur waters and all derive benefit from the general detoxification of a good, long soak in a hot mineral bath in a magical retreat setting.

Hours: 7am-2am-last reservation at 12:45am
$15.00 per person per hour

(Children under the age of 5 years old are not allowed in the hot tubs)
